Are you interested in comic book culture, but left feeling empty by the current products offered? Do you want to climb out of the darkness and are a little “Jesus” curious? My name is John Bursell. I love comic books, and I love exploring all the wisdom that is contained in the Holy Bible. I want to bring an underground zine feel to a line of faith based stories. I know that there were many times in my life where I was drawn to the grittiness of the broken world but would have benefited greatly by cutting edge christian art. I have felt a calling to leave the flock behind and chase the lost. God wants me to show them there is hope and life in Jesus Christ. “The Armor of God” Graphic Novel

This eight issue story follows the adventures of the nonbeliever Angela, lost in the world struggling for answers. Since the loss of her boyfriend who mysteriously disappeared, Angela started seeing sin… Black snakes that surround and devour the people around her. When war breaks out across America, she befriends a Baptist Bible study group of their journey to survive, and their quest to find the Armor of God.

EPs

These ChristianPunk zines are an experiment and a place to dump my thoughts that have no room in the “My Walk” comic book series. Comic strips, poetry, photography, art and commentary inhabit the music inspired EPs ("EP" is a versatile abbreviation, most commonly meaning Extended Play- music with more tracks than a single but fewer than an album).

In these mini Zines, I use some AI to explore ideas and concepts. And sometimes I get flooded with so many ideas, that it is a way to let those ideas take shape and form, so I can move on to painting and drawing the next ideas… Some of the visuals in these EPs may be generated by AI, but the concepts and ideas come from the ever inspiring Holy Spirit.

I have a jar of ink and Jesus in my heart. Let’s see what happens.
